How do volunteers help advance Radiance’s purpose?
I believe that volunteers are an integral part of helping Radiance achieve our purpose of healing the human spirit. Our volunteers help raise awareness to domestic violence in our community and increase the overall community presence of Radiance throughout the city. They also help reduce stigma surrounding domestic violence and strengthen our community partnerships. Their involvement helps our capacity as an organization, but it also helps our important work of empowerment and healing.
What excites you most about where volunteer engagement is heading this year?
Building a stable structure to our Radiance volunteer program is what is exciting me the most about this upcoming year. I am looking forward to more community outreach, where volunteers play a key role in helping Radiance increase awareness and partnerships, all while reducing stigmas surrounding domestic violence. I am also looking forward to revamping new roles and bringing in help to departments that need extra support.
I am also just super excited to get to know all the volunteers at Radiance!
What is something that we don’t know about you?
I love travelling and I have been lucky enough to do lots of it during my university years. My favourite trip has been Japan in 2016. I am also fortunate to have lived in Canada for over 24 years, but I am originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina so I am bilingual in both Spanish and English.
