Over 100 guests enticed their eyes and taste buds this past weekend at Sweet Hope, an innovative dessert-theatre fundraising event hosted by Sonshine Community Services.
Patisserie Du Soleil, the event’s presenting sponsor provided exquisite, plated desserts for each guest. Sunterra Market, Lazy Loaf and Kettle, Glamorgan Bakery, Cookie Occasion and Amandine Bakery provided more culinary delights for guests to enjoy at intermission. A live performance of Threads by Fire Exit Theatre and Corps Bara Dance followed the feast of sweet treats. This original dance-theatre production examines humanities design for interconnection, yet society’s ironic move toward fragmentation, and how differences must be embraced in order to create strength and beauty. Event sponsors included Kern Partners and The Canadian Progress Club Calgary City Centre.
